90 Day Challenge + 10K A Day

*Knock knock*

Is anyone out there?  Probably not.  It's been quite a while since I last posted.  And my last blog entry was not the most positive and uplifting post.  I do appreciate those who commented, and said such nice things.  Thank you - you know who you are.

So where am I at?  I think where I left off, I was doing a Maximum Weight Loss challenge that I had come up with, doing videos at home.  I knew that wouldn't last long.  I knew that I need to actually go somewhere, before I get home....because I have trouble doing anything and getting motivated when I get home after work.

So I joined a new gym.  Probably like the 10th gym I've been a member at.  But I am LOVING this new gym.  Everything about it.  It is one of the more expensive ones, but I think totally worth it.  It certainly has me motivated to go.

Another thing that has had me motivated, is that I joined a 90-day weight loss challenge (at said gym), and a 10K a day challenge (10,000 steps a day).  Can I just say....it is unbelievable how inactive I am with a desk job.  I don't think a lot of us realize it.  When I don't make an effort, I usually get as low as around 3,000 steps a day.  That's sad.

So I've been trying to make an effort to get up a couple times a day to take a walk for 15 minutes.  It's not always easy.  It's pretty easy to tell yourself  that you're too busy, and your work comes first.  But I really try to tell myself that I will be a much more productive and happy worker if I take those breaks throughout the day.  I tend to come back to my desk refreshed, and in a much better mood.

I'll be updating my results throughout the 90 day challenge.  I'm in the 3rd week, and today was weigh-in day.  So every Wednesday I want to have a "Weigh In Wednesday" post.  I track both my weight and body fat %.  This week, I weighed in at 176.9, and 48.1% body fat (!!!!!! ugh !!!!!).

I just want to take a moment to comment on that body fat %.  I could NOT believe it when I saw it.  I had thought I was maybe in the mid- to upper-30s when it came to body fat.  I was way more.  It really goes to show how out of control we can get, without even realizing it.  I'll definitely be working hard to get that number down to much better number.

It's time to work!
